Hey Eduardo is a desktop application developed and published by Hey Eduardo ("we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at hello@heyeduardo.app.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
Purchase data: When you purchase Hey Eduardo, our payment processor (Paddle) collects your name, email address, and payment information. We receive your email address and a transaction reference so we can deliver your license key and provide support. We do not store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Paddle.
License key validation: When you activate Hey Eduardo, the app contacts our license server to verify your license key is valid. This request includes your license key and basic system information (operating system version). No conversation data, no document content, and no personal information beyond the license key is included in this request.
Support communications: If you contact us at hello@heyeduardo.app, we receive and store your email address and the contents of that communication in order to respond to you.
Hey Eduardo processes all AI inference on your device using a locally downloaded language model. When you highlight text and ask Eduardo a question:
The only exception is if you choose to connect your own third-party API key (such as an Anthropic or OpenAI API key) through the app's settings. In that case, your queries are sent to that third-party provider according to their own privacy policy. This is an optional feature that you must explicitly enable. The app clearly indicates when cloud mode is active.
Paddle: We use Paddle as our payment processor and merchant of record. Paddle handles all payment processing and global tax compliance. Their privacy policy is available at paddle.com/privacy.
Third-party AI providers (optional): If you choose to connect your own API key, your queries will be processed by that provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter) under their respective privacy policies. We do not receive or store these queries.
Purchase records: We retain your email address and transaction records as required for accounting and tax purposes, typically for 7 years.
Support emails: We retain support correspondence for up to 3 years, after which it is deleted.
License validation logs: Basic license check logs (license key + timestamp, no personal identifiers) are retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention, then automatically deleted.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@heyeduardo.app. We will respond within 30 days.
Because we hold minimal personal data (primarily your email address and purchase record), most requests can be fulfilled quickly.
Hey Eduardo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at hello@heyeduardo.app and we will delete it promptly.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify customers via email if the changes affect how we handle data we already hold. Continued use of Hey Eduardo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
